Press Release

For Immediate Release

Fort Lauderdale, FL | November 11, 2015:  On Monday, November 16, 2015, hundreds from the nonprofit, financial, housing, and business sectors will gather for the inaugural South Florida Community Reinvestment Summit.  The summit will be held at the GalleryOne Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.  This year’s theme is Leveraging Investments in Your Community.

“The market crash of 2008 highlighted what many in our communities already knew: numerous neighborhoods in South Florida are suffering and recovery is only a mirage in the future. We will gather to learn about the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and what it has to do with financial resources and neighborhood stabilization. Working together in a collaborative manner, something we also need to learn about, is the way in which we will get things done in the future”, says Arden Shank, Chairman of the newly formed Community Reinvestment Alliance of South Florida, Inc.

The Summit is a day-long event with plenary sessions, workshops, keynote luncheon, and networking reception.  Registration is only $25 per person or organization.  Attendees can register online at or onsite the day of the event.

From this series of meetings, the Community Reinvestment Alliance of South Florida has emerged. Its nine member board has hosted several listening sessions and then planned this Summit”, says Arden Shank.
